Our curated selection of premium loose leaf tea is primarily single origin. It is pure whole leaves, unblended and unflavored. The menu changes with the season, and we respect the cycle of growth, harvest, and production. Price of individual teas is for 50 grams.

This is our Winter Collection, available available for home delivery. Each tea is perfect for a teapot, gaiwan, or easy, elegant brewing and drinking in a bowl.  

TEA OF THE MONTH:

Gushu Sun-Dried Yunnan Red

This tea exceeds expectations. It demands your full attention, so give yourself a quiet, peaceful environment and plenty of time. This is an inside tea. Although I often take tea outdoors, it is too distracting for this one. Likewise, set a simple table - the tea itself is the ritual. 

Even though this tea has the highest pedigree, I prefer drinking it in a bowl (grandpa style). You can see the full expansion of the leaves, you're closest to the natural state of the tea. You can practically see the texture, the high mountain tropical forest where it grew. The liquor is substantial yet delicate and gentle, maybe because the tea was sun dried at the end. 

The tea is patient. Even using a bowl, you can get 10 infusions. The aroma shifts around the 5th bowl. The leaves appear heavier, as it they take in a lot of water to fully express themselves. By the 10th infusion, the energy and warmth of the tea have been transmitted to your hands through the clay bowl. 

What to say about the experience? It is deeply relaxing. Shoulders drop, the  jaw stretches itself, even scars are softened. After several bowls you feel cleansed, healed from the compounds retrieved from deep in the earth by the long roots of old trees. It seems as if the tea is absorbed rather than digested. In these challenging times it is a remarkable antidote to contraction.
