Brewing Guide

Brewing tea is an adventure, and it can be rewarding to vary the amount of leaf, water temperature, and time to suit your taste.  This guide offers a starting point for Western brewing, 16 oz (475 ml)  and Eastern brewing, 6 oz (180ml).

 

For Leaves in a Bowl, use an 8-10 oz bowl, with 1 pinch to 3 grams or more of leaf as a starting point. Experiment to find your personal preference for different types of tea.  Add hot water.  Let the tea brew for a few minutes.  Enjoy the aroma and the warmth of the bowl.  Watch the leaves begin to unfurl.  Take your time drinking.  You may resteep the tea several times.
